He’s been singing since the age 3, in the choir which his aunt and mother, late Vickie Labat aka Violet May Pierre, song in church. His mother, Vickie Labat has quite few hits ‘When you’re in love’ and ‘Keep Me Hangin On’. Check out www.youtube.com and www.tuffcity.com for more information.
Curtis and his other siblings are proud to know what a great voice their mother had left them. Curtis, out of the 7, declares this gift as he gives all credit to his mother. His sister, Petre Pierre, shares this gift as she is a choir director in her local town’s church back home in New Orleans.
After losing his youngest brother, Johnny Pierre, to gang violence, Curtis has strong justified views on any implication to gangs, for him currently actively working with young men and women to change their lives as a positive mentor to young lives.
He uses his gift to showcase that growing up in the hood does not mean being the attribute of negativity. He is a living example to hard workship, prayer, and dedication to living your dreams. Curtis believe in God Almighty has been his motto to success.
He is a role model to be reckoned with. Arrived in Chicago, in the late 80’s early 90’s, in pursuit for a more humble singing career, knowing that some the great artists were born and raised in the local town, he made name at the famous 1710 S. Michigan Ave. The home of R Kelly, the late Bernie Mac, Ray Silkman, and now American Idol, Angela Martin shared the stage with many great performers as he fit in with his unique style.
